On April 14, the results of the 11th Guangdong Patent Awards were officially announced. HKC Co., Ltd. won the Gold Award with its patent for "Pixel Structure, Array Substrate and Display Panel", securing one of only 20 Gold Award slots across the province, alongside leading tech enterprises including Huawei, BYD, Tencent and DJI.
As the highest honor in the province’s patent field, the Guangdong Patent Award strictly limits the number of Gold Awards to no more than 20 per session. The selection criteria cover multiple core dimensions such as patent innovation, technical level and implementation benefits, making the competition extremely fierce. Each Gold Award represents the top level of patented technology in the province and sets an industry benchmark. HKC’s outstanding performance this time is not only a high recognition of its patented technological strength, but also the best reward for the company’s persistent focus on innovation and commitment to technological originality.
The award-winning invention patent "Pixel Structure, Array Substrate and Display Panel" provides an innovative solution to key challenges faced by dual-gate pixel driving structures in industrial applications. Although dual-gate driving structures help reduce production costs, the traditional layout is prone to vertical stripe defects, while the improved same-side grouped layout suffers from capacitance mismatch and uneven brightness. Existing compensation schemes further reduce aperture ratio and damage electrode symmetry.
In response, HKC optimized the design of the pixel unit architecture by placing both thin-film transistors (TFTs) close to the data lines with matched routing. This ensures capacitance matching, improves display quality, and maintains pixel aperture ratio and electrode symmetry, while further simplifying processes and reducing costs, providing an efficient and reliable technical solution for the industry.
